CE Marking: The Process
There are a series of steps outlined below for CE mark approval. Depending upon your product and the nature of the risks it presents:

Conduct the Assessment of the Product.Step 1 – Identify the Appropriate Directive(s):
We will identify each and every directive which your product is required to meet and explain what is required from each directive.
Step 2 – Identify the Applicable Requirements of the Directive(s):
As required by certain Directives (i.e. Mechanical Directive etc) we will conduct and document a full product Risk Assessment based specifically on the requirements of the directive.
Step 3 – Identify the Appropriate Requirement for Conformity:
Under each Directive there are a multitude of standards relating to specific types of either whole products, elements of products or process. Identifying and applying correctly the standards which relate to a given product is key to ensuring a product is in total conformity.
Step 4 – Conduct the Assessment of the Product:
By-and-large all electronic and electrical products must be EMC tested to confirm that they meet the requirements of the EMC Directive.
The EMC Directive aims to; (a) Prevent electromagnetic disturbances produced by one piece of electrical/electronic equipment from interfering with other electrical equipment or telecommunications networks, and (b) Ensure that electrical/electronic equipment has sufficient immunity to electromagnetic disturbances to enable them to operate as intended.
Step 5 – Compile the Technical Documentation:
All CE marking directives require the manufacturer of the product to create a technical file which should contain the information required to show that the product properly complies with the requirements of the directives which apply to it. We will compile the Technical File for your product.
Step 6 – Issue Declaration of Conformity & Place CE Mark on Product:
The Declaration of Conformity (DoC) is basically a piece of paper which someone has to sign to say that the product meets the requirements of the Directive. We will compile your DoC for you to sign to say that your product meets the requirements of the applicable directives to your product.
